On July 13, 2009, Children
First! Collin County Coalition will make a presentation to the Collin County Commissioners Court
at a regular meeting. Interested LWV members are encouraged to
attend the meeting at 9:30 a.m. in the Collin County Administration
Building, 2300 Bloomdale Road, McKinney. In addition to delivering
a brief overview of the coalition and what it hopes to accomplish,
Children First! will kick off a school supply drive in partnership with
the county to collect and distribute school supplies to organizations
that serve needy children.
LWV-P/CC is also helping
with a Children First! seminar on health issues affecting children in
Collin County, focused on improving birth outcomes. The seminar
will be 10 a.m. to noon, Friday, Sept. 25, at the Collin College Preston
Ridge Campus in Frisco.
