LWV-CC will host a free public forum where participants will learn guidelines for taking part in public demonstrations in a nonpartisan way, writing effective letters and making effective phone calls to state and national legislators, and writing strong letters to the editor.
Growth and the Environment
LWV-CC will host a free public forum where a panel of experts will look at how rapid growth in our region, including an influx of power-hungry data centers, is affecting the environment.
Public Transportation
LWV-CC will host a free public forum about public transportation, including an overview of changes in DART, and exploration of other local public transportation options.
Countywide vs. Precinct-based Voting
LWV-CC will host a free public forum about how counties decide which method to use, and what the implications are for voters. We'll explore details of the process and how to prepare voters for possible changes.
Socializing and Civics
LWV-CC hosted a free public forum on June 13, 2026. Guest speaker Rev. Mara Richards Bim discussed 'Religion in Public Schools: Navigating New Texas Legislation.' In her presentation, she shared information about the new law, what it means, and what to expect in public schools.
